same person, different body
You ever notice you keep dating the same person. Different face, different name, sometimes a different gender, and somehow the exact same pull and the exact same crash.
That is not bad luck. That is a pattern, and Lyon actually explains the pattern.
When we showed up in a body, the world made us pick a side. Masculine or feminine. Spirit or matter. Whatever we picked, the other half got buried in our shadow. And we have been trying to dig it back up ever since by falling for whoever seems to be holding it for us.
He lays out four types. The steady one who holds presence and keeps his word. The wild erotic one who lights up a room from across it. The intense one who tells the truth that ends things. The gracious one who receives everyone and welcomes them home.
Every one of them has a shadow. The steady one goes cold. The wild one starts manipulating. The intense one starts breaking what should not be broken, and that one matters, because the same energy that can take someone to God can also cross every line there is. Seeing that clearly is not approving of it. It is how you stop getting played by it.
And then the pairings just repeat. Steady plus wild. Gracious plus intense. We have all run at least two of these on a loop and called it destiny.
Here is the part that gets us out. We are not actually chasing a person. We are chasing the half of ourselves we buried. And nobody else can hand it back for good.
Stop waiting for the right body to complete you. Go marry the half you buried.
Then the dance is just a dance again.
